Background Information

In the latter part of 1997 the Lincolnshire Post-Polio Network achieved charity status by having our registration accepted by the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales. The following resources both explain what registration means and provide background information on how the UK charity registration system operates.

Charity Commission for England and Wales
http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/: The Charity Commission is the government department which exists to help charities use their resources more effectively and to ensure that the public's trust in charities continues to be justified. The Commission both support and supervises charities. They do not make grants either to charities or individual people.
