Medical Credentials

Since I made my first post [to the SJU Polio Mailing List] on 1/18/97, the vast majority of the feedback I have received has been favorable. I am doing this voluntarily and I gain more knowledge in the process as I hope most of you are. I am one of you and only express my opinion as you do. However for clarity, I will list my education, training, and experience for those who are interested.

I have been on the staff of five hospitals, consultant to a specialized nursing home for severely disabled young adults, consultant to Social Services, the state Rehab Services, a local large missionary organization, and as a psychiatric consultant for the local SSDI determiners office. I have been a dept. chairman and on the executive committee of my primary hospital (a 400 bed plus Catholic hospital) and served on numerous committees. In these capacities I have attempted to be an advocate for the disabled of every category. I was named a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 1991 based on my professional accomplishments. I have lost most of this very fulfilling and gratifying career because of PPS as many of you have experienced and lost your careers. I still have my knowledge and experience. For the last five years, I have been the president of the Central Va PPS Support Group and have just been re-elected to serve a 6th year. I want to learn as much about PPS as possible for my own benefit and others. I do not object to thoughtful criticism as I have lived with that within my profession for years.

Enough said,

Henry Holland, Richmond., Virginia, USA. Henry4FDR@aol.com
