http://healthlinks.washington.edu/journals/: The University of Washington provides a comprehensive facility for locating journals with a presence on the Internet. They cover a wide range of journals including established publications. Some subscription based journals are only accessible from within the University Network but all entries are clearly annotated with information on any access limitations.

The Free Medical Journals Site
http://www.freemedicaljournals.com/: Directory of medical journals offering free access.
"Within the next three years, the most important medical journals will be available online, free and in full-text. The access to free scientific knowledge will have a major impact on medical practice and attract Internet visitors to these journals. Journals that restrict access to their Web sites will lose popularity. The Free Medical Journals Site is dedicated to the promotion of free access to medical journals over the Internet."

Medical Journal Finder
http://mjf.de/MJF/MJF/home.html: Comprehensive listing of Medical Journals with links to web sites. Offers keyword search or alphabetical lists. Also includes citation abbreviation cross-reference and other facilities.

Established Journals

This section includes established journals that are typically cited in post-polio medical articles and that have at least some of their output available online although not necessarily articles specifically about Post-Polio.

eBMJ - British Medical Journal

This site contains the full text of all articles published in the weekly BMJ from January 1997. In addition it contains material which is unique to the website. Access is currently free of charge.

Chest

The Cardiopulmonary and Critical Care Journal is the official publication of the American College of Chest Physicians. Primarily abstracts but a number of full text articles are available. These appear to be mainly found in the supplements which can be accessed via the abstracts section. One example being Mechanical Ventilation Beyond the Intensive Care Unit from Volume 113, Number 5. May, 1998 Supplement.

Lancet Interactive

Limited number of articles available to non-paying subscribers. All subscribers must register.

New England Journal of Medicine

Limited number of features available to non-subscibers.

Pain	Articles from 1998 and 1997 downloadable in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Free until the end of 1998.

Web Publications

Medicine On-Line International Journal of Medicine: Medicine On-Line is the independent, peer-reviewed, free, journal available purely on the World-Wide Web. Launched in Spring 1995, it is the first and leading electronic general medicine journal. Also at the same site are journals covering Psychiatry, General Practice, Anaesthesia, Family, Dentistry and Veterinary medicine.
